Job Description

McCall's Meat & Fish Co. is hiring for a Butcher / Meat-Cutter to start ASAP.
Ideal candidate is someone with butcher shop experience and/or an experienced chef looking to hone in their meat-cutting skills.

24–30+ hours per week (must be available to work weekends)
Typical shifts : 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM, 4–5 days per week, focused on filling orders and supporting the team after the morning butchers leave
Sunday shift : 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8 hours)
Compensation : Hourly wage + tips

Ideal candidate :
- Has previous experience cutting meat
- 2+ years kitchen experience
- Willing to learn from our seasoned staff
- Works with a sense of urgency + attention to detail
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Is a team player with a positive attitude
- Has a CA Food Handler's Card or can have one by assigned start date

Job duties :
- Cutting meat for sausage/grinds, grinding meats, breaking down whole chickens, trussing whole chickens, making stock, etc. (As needed, to assist team)
- Helping fulfill and organize customer orders
- Assisting in cleaning and properly packaging meat for storage
- Completing any task needed from the butcher staff or management

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($19.00-22, based on experience) plus hourly pooled tips with a 6 month review.
