Job Purpose
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered care to women throughout their lives, with a special focus on pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health. Working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the CNM conducts assessments, develops care plans, performs clinical procedures, and helps address community health challenges through education, preventive care, and coordination with local resources.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Professional & Technical Knowledge:
Possesses the equivalent of extensive formal training as a Nurse Practitioner and Midwife, including an understanding of the application of the theory and practices of the profession to the operations of the organization, usually in the form of a degree in Nursing and Certification as a Nurse-Midwife.
Possesses an understanding of the trade/profession at a level that allows the employee to select methods for others to use (from those already in existence in the profession).

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
