About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and hands on Director of Manufacturing to lead and scale our manufacturing operations. This is an on-site leadership role in Austin, TX, requiring close collaboration with production teams and direct involvement in driving performance on the floor.  This role is ideal for a leader who wants ownership and the opportunity to build, not just manage. You will play a critical role in shaping our manufacturing strategy, implementing scalable systems, and driving operational excellence as we grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all on-site manufacturing functions, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability
  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production, cost reduction, and process optimization
  • Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure performance and drive data-driven improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Own and enhance quality management systems and lead certification efforts (ISO, UL, etc.)
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing manufacturing teams
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to support new product introduction and scaling
  • Implement systems, tools, and automation to improve manufacturing performance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
  • 7–15+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement
  • Experience with quality management systems and certifications (ISO, UL, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems and production analytics
  • Proven ability to scale manufacturing operations and improve efficiency
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in renewable energy, solar, or energy storage
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma certification
  • Experience in high growth environments
  • Master’s degree (MBA or related field)
