Senior Accountant - High-Growth Construction Platform

Overview

This team is experiencing significant growth across key markets, creating strong internal mobility, exposure to complex projects, and clear advancement opportunities for

high performers. This is an opportunity for a top-tier Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and wants visibility, ownership, and influence within a growing organization. You'll play a critical role in financial reporting, project accounting, and analysis-working closely with operations and executive leadership. This role is ideal for someone who wants to step beyond traditional accounting, gain exposure to large-scale projects and joint ventures, and position themselves for future leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own critical aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Prepare and post complex journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger

  • Lead balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving variances

  • Deliver meaningful financial insights through variance and trend analysis to support business decision-making

  • Support revenue recognition and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting using percentage-of-completion methodologies on large-scale projects

  • Partner with leadership on joint venture accounting, including reporting, analysis, and coordination with external partners

  • Manage and reconcile union-related liabilities and project-specific accounts

  • Act as a trusted business partner to project teams-providing financial guidance and support to operations

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, insurance, and operations to support key business initiatives

  • Play a key role in audit readiness, preparing schedules and supporting external audits

  • Drive process improvements and internal controls enhancements as the organization continues to scale

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out

  • High-growth environment with strong backing and significant investment across major infrastructure projects

  • Exposure to large, complex, high-visibility projects and joint venture structures

  • Clear path for career progression into leadership roles

  • Opportunity to work directly with Senior leadership and operational teams

  • A culture that values ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (construction or project-based accounting highly preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

  • Hands-on experience with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting

  • Proven ability to operate with autonomy while collaborating cross-functionally

  • Advanced analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders

  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards experience a plus) and strong Excel proficiency

  • Highly motivated, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Who Thrives Here

We are looking for a high-caliber, driven professional who:

  • Takes ownership and proactively identifies solutions

  • Wants to be closer to the business vs. siloed in corporate accounting
