Paraprofessional – 1:1 Preschool Support

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Paraprofessional to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a preschool-aged child within a structured school environment. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working closely with children and making a meaningful difference in a student’s daily educational experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 classroom support and supervision
• Shadow and assist the child throughout the school day
• Accompany the child to therapy sessions (physical, occupational, speech)
• Respond appropriately to medical situations or emergencies if they arise
• Perform paraprofessional duties as directed by the supervisor and program staff
• Support the child’s safety, engagement, and overall well-being

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma
• Minimum 3–6 months of paraprofessional experience preferred
• Training in the use of an Epi-Pen
• Willingness and ability to work with medically fragile children
• Must be fingerprinted, or willing to be fingerprinted, by the Board of Education (fees paid by candidate)
• Mandated Reporter Certification required
• Completion of SCR Form
• Recent Quantiferon TB Test
• Pre-employment Physical Exam
• Titer Tests / Proof of Immunization: MMR, TDAP, Varicella
