Our client, a prominent Atlanta-based organization, is seeking a high-caliber Tax Accountant to join their sophisticated corporate tax function. This is an ideal role for a professional transitioning out of a Big 4 or regional public accounting firm who is looking for a dynamic "in-house" environment. You will play a pivotal role in U.S. federal and state compliance while gaining unique exposure to international tax and GAAP provision workflows. Responsibilities
- Income Tax Compliance: Lead the preparation of consolidated U.S. federal and multi-state income tax returns. You will manage complex workpapers and leverage tax software to ensure timely, accurate filings.
- Provision & GAAP Reporting: Collaborate directly with tax leadership to prepare statutory and U.S. GAAP tax provisions. This role offers a dedicated path to mastering book-to-tax differences and financial reporting requirements.
- Payments & Cash Flow: Calculate and manage federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions; assist with the preparation of international tax forms.
- Audit & Controversy Management: Act as the primary coordinator for federal and state inquiries. You will manage the audit pipeline, draft formal responses to notices, and organize supporting documentation.
- Strategic Research: Utilize advanced research tools to address complex tax matters, drafting technical memos to support business decisions and special projects.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical training to junior team members to foster a collaborative department culture.
